| This path helps you build your skills as an
innovative communicator and leader. The projects on this path
focus on how to negotiate a positive outcome together with
building strong interpersonal communication and public speaking
skills. Each project emphasizes developing leadership skills to
use in complex situations, as well as creating innovative
solutions to challenges. This path culminates in a “High

Pathways Enhancements by Level
Below is a
comprehensive list of the new requirements being added to
Pathways this October as explained throughout this document. To
complete each level, members must complete all the tasks below
as well as their required projects in each level. Two levels
have an option for mentorship as a role. If a member hasn’t
begun the Pathways Mentor Program, it can be found in the
Suggested Learning section of their Base Camp home page once
they’ve completed Level 2. |
|
|
| |
 |
|
Beginning in
Levels 3, 4, and 5, members will be required to
deliver one
presentation from
The Successful Club
Series. Each level will include a curated selection
of topics to choose from, allowing flexibility based on
club needs and member interests. |
 |
|
|
 |
|
|
| In Level 4, members will be introduced to The Better
Speaker Series. One presentation from this series will
be required, and Toastmasters will be free to deliver
any of the 10 titles. Topics in this series include
beginning and concluding speeches, impromptu speaking,
and how to select a speech topic. The information in
these presentations will support members in growing
their speech writing and delivery skills. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
* Table Topics Speaker must be completed
before delivering an Ice Breaker speech.
** An introductory mentor is a member who unofficially supports
new members by answering questions and guiding them based on
their own experiences. If a member hasn’t begun the Pathways
Mentor Program, they can find it in the Suggested Learning
section on the Base Camp home page once they’ve completed Level
2.
*** Completing a specialized role allows you to fill a role that
is specific to your club or a unique situation. For example,
your club may have an Online Moderator role, or there may be a
circumstance where someone is needed to manage visual aids for
another member |

Important Next Steps for Your Club
As you prepare for these exciting enhancements, take the
following steps to make sure your club is ready. Share this
information with members. Let them know that changes are coming
and they’ll soon have more opportunities to participate in your
club. Let them know:
1. The enhancements will be added as the first item in each
level. The section will detail all requirements for the level
and provide a place for the member to track what has been
completed.
2. These changes will be available in English in the six paths
currently available for purchase: Dynamic Leadership, Engaging
Humor, Motivational Strategies, Persuasive Influence,
Presentation Mastery, and Visionary Communication. They will not
be available in legacy paths or translated paths.
3. Members working in legacy paths and translated paths are
still welcome to complete meeting roles and presentations from
the Education Series.
4. Members working in languages available as part of the
District Translations program can expect minor changes to their
processes. Members working in these languages access available
translated PDFs from the Resources page on Base Camp and use an
English path to track progress. The English path used for
tracking progress will have the new content added |
| |
However, this content will not be
translated until the District Translations team for that
language chooses to translate it. These members will need to
mark the new sections complete when tracking project completion
in their path. You are welcome to require them to complete
meeting roles before marking their level complete. However, the
Education Series are not currently available in any District
Translations language. Levels 3, 4, and 5 should be marked
complete for members using District Translations PDFs, even if
they have not completed the Education Series presentations.
5. Projects currently required in each level of any path will
not be changed. These can be reviewed in the
Paths and Core Competencies
document on the Toastmasters website. (Download a Copy
HERE).
6. These changes will not affect the progress any Toastmaster
has already made. If a level has been completed, the member will
have the new content, but their progress will be unaffected.
|
| |
| Familiarize yourself with the Education
Series. If you aren’t familiar with
The Successful Club Series,
The Better Speaker Series,
and
The Leadership Excellence Series,
now is a good time to review this content. Knowing what’s
included and how much time is needed for presentations will help
you answer questions and prepare to include these in meeting
agendas. |
| |
| Prepare to start tracking new requirements.
Keep in mind that when approving level completions, you’ll now
have additional items to track. In addition to validating that
the member completed all requirements for the projects in their
level, you’ll also need to confirm that they completed the
meeting roles and Education Series presentations listed in the
chart above. Determine now how you’ll keep track of and validate
these items and ensure all officers in your club know the plan.
As mentioned, you can ask members to track meeting roles
themselves using the Meeting Roles section on their profile |
| |
| Get ready for improved club quality and
success. We hope this encourages members to be
more involved in your club and makes it easier
for you to fill required roles. As needed,
remind members that the club can’t succeed
without their involvement, and these
requirements provide new opportunities for them
to learn and practice skills. |
