Vintage Paths and Explorations

Toastmasters is preparing to expand Pathways with two new learning options: Vintage Paths and Explorations. Vintage Paths will bring classic Toastmasters educational materials into Base Camp, while Explorations will offer shorter, focused learning experiences built around one topic.

Together, these additions give members more flexibility—whether they want to experience historic Toastmasters materials or build practical skills in a targeted area.

Helpful Tip

If members in your club enjoy classic Toastmasters materials, encourage them to complete Level 1 in their current path so they will be eligible to purchase a Vintage Path when it becomes available. If members want focused skill-building, keep an eye on Explorations as a shorter learning option.

What Are Vintage Paths?

According to Toastmasters International, two new paths will allow members to “step into Toastmasters history.” These new options will bring classic educational content into the modern Base Camp system. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

The first new path, Basic Training for Toastmasters, will feature a version of Toastmasters training content first introduced by founder Ralph C. Smedley in 1943. The second, Communication Series: Entertaining + Storytelling, will include the classic Competent Communication manual along with The Entertaining Speaker and Storytelling Advanced Communication manuals. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

How Members Will Access the Content

Feature What TI Says
When available Members may purchase a Vintage Path after completing Level 1 in any other path.
Where to work Vintage Paths will appear on Base Camp with other paths.
How to use the materials Members can navigate the content directly on Base Camp or download and print PDFs.
Recognition Members will earn badges, certificates, credentials, and Distinguished Club Program credit.

Why This Matters
  • It gives long-time members a chance to reconnect with familiar Toastmasters materials.

  • It introduces newer members to important parts of Toastmasters educational history.

  • It keeps classic resources relevant by making them available through Base Camp.

  • It still supports Pathways recognition and club credit.

What Are Explorations?

Toastmasters International has also announced a new educational product called Explorations. These are described as in-depth learnings made up of three projects that help members focus on multiple aspects of a specific topic. :contentReference[oaicite:3]{index=3}

The first Exploration will be Manage Online Meetings, which will include:

  • Attending Online Meetings

  • Delivering Online Presentations

  • Leading Online Meetings

Explorations appear intended to give members a way to build a specific skill set without committing to the longer structure of a full path. That makes them especially useful for topics that clubs and members need right now, such as effective online participation and leadership. This is an inference based on TI’s description of Explorations as focused, topic-based learning. :contentReference[oaicite:4]{index=4}

Bottom Line

Vintage Paths and Explorations show that Pathways is continuing to grow in two directions at once: honoring the past and expanding for the future. One gives members access to classic Toastmasters content. The other creates new opportunities for focused, practical learning.
