Your First Steps as a Toastmaster
From “membership active” to real Pathways progress

Welcome to Toastmasters! Your membership is active, and you’re officially part of Your Club Name Should Appear Here. What happens next sets the foundation for your success in Pathways.

What’s New
1) . As a new member, you now have access to My Home, Toastmasters’ online platform. From there, you will:

  • Set up your account and confirm your profile.                                                                   Set Up Profile

  • Already created a Password?                                                                                                    Sign In Here.

  • Review The Navigator, your essential guide to meetings, speeches, evaluations, and Pathways

2). Review the Navigator.

The best way to set yourself up for success is by reviewing The Navigator. This guide will help you prepare for club meetings, provide information about the Pathways learning experience, prepare you to give speeches and evaluations, and inform you about other opportunities in Toastmasters!

Must be signed in.   >>>                        Review the Navigator
3. Select your first learning path. Pathways is the Toastmasters education program, and your first path in the Pathways learning experience is included with your membership
  • Access Base Camp, where all Pathways projects and progress are managed
  • Receive support from a club mentor to help you get started confidently
  • Once you’re ready to select your first Pathways path, select the “Choose Free Path” tile on your My Home screen and follow the prompts. The next time you log into My Home, you will see the “Go to Base Camp” tile. Base Camp is where you will always access your Pathways work.
Why It Matters
Pathways turns what you do in club meetings—speeches, roles, and evaluations—into recognized progress. Members who set up My Home early, review The Navigator, and choose a path tend to:
  • Feel more confident at meetings
  • Progress faster through their first level
  • Stay engaged and motivated
  • Get more value from mentoring and feedback
4. Ask a club officer to assign a mentor to you. An experienced Toastmaster can help walk you through the New Member Orientation, answer your questions, and set you up for success as a Toastmaster.
                                                                                                                               New Member Orientation
5. Learn how to make the most of your Toastmasters experience from the Toastmasters International President. (Yes, there’s an International Board of Directors, all of whom were new members once, just like you are today!)
                                                                                                                      International President's message

Helpful Tip
Don’t try to figure everything out at once. Do these three things first:

  1. Set up your My Home account using the email you joined with

  2. Skim The Navigator—focus on the “Getting Started” sections

  3. Ask a club officer to assign you a mentor

Everything else will fall into place as you participate.
